Liberals advocate compassion and understanding when it comes to punishing criminals whereas conservatives believe in strict application of the law. If the laws do not provide a fair and reasonable punishment, then they revise the laws. Liberals desire cradle-to-grave care for our citizenry and being responsible for overseeing their care. Conservatives on the other hand believe in the purpose of our Constitution is for everyone to have equal opportunity to achieve or fail to achieve their goal.
Many of my overseas readers, especially from Europe, are well aware that news outlets are incredibly biased and have to be regarded with a healthy skepticism. Here in the United States the people who consider themselves journalists have been spending the past few decades defying themselves and promoting the myth that they are objective, fair, and balanced. In reality they are partisans transparently pushing their political agendas.
As such, Conservatives demand that America spend less on the results of human weaknesses and foibles, whereas Liberals generally demand that we spend more. Conservatives would say that they’re expecting people to live up to a certain standard, and don’t want to make it easier for that standard to be missed.
Liberals would say that standards are often arbitrary and subject to factors outside individual decision making, and we want to make it easier for people to pick themselves up again when the standard is out of reach.
Simply because the left-leaning press was proven right about Watergate and the right-leaning press was proven wrong, the left ran with the notion that their kind of biased journalism was objective.
We will all of us do things we regret, make decisions that don’t pan out, and, not for nothing, but continue attempting to live in our human form. And we will also be failed by others – whether by a boss who decides to close a business, or a parent who couldn’t get it together, or a series of doctors who just didn’t notice that tumor.
They believe a person on welfare should be entitled to own a home using part of their welfare funds. Conservatives advocate a strong policy of work ethics raises the human spirit and provides a path towards a goal of economic freedom.
There is no compromise of principles between liberals and conservatives. This last presidential election clearly revealed the ultimate liberal agenda and half of the population is opposed to it. They are the economic engine capable of producing wealth and doubt if this percentage decreases their continuance of providing the wealth needed to care for the welfare recipients.
